I've been listening to very fascinating and educational messages on the topic of evolution, theistic evolution and creationism. During the presentation the speaker touches briefly on the beginning of life and it's unexplainability* in the evolutionary circles. It got me to thinking and this is what I thought.
Evolutionists cannot explain the beginning of life scientifically without a God. There is a scientific principle called bio-genesis which can be defined simply as "life comes from life". We do not see spontaneous life in our historical records. As a matter of fact all research proves the contrary. Life must come from life.
So then evolutionists are confronted with an insurmountable problem in their beliefs if they want to keep with scientific reasoning. One scientist (who received the Nobel prize for discovering DNA) stated that life came from a bacteria that aliens launched millions of years ago. This bacteria landed on Earth and started evolving. But this brings up more questions than it answers, such as; where did the aliens come from? Who gave them life? It is impossible for evolutionists to explain the entrance of life without God.
So then the evolutionist would probably pose the question "if God is the source of all life then where did God begin?" To that we can say, if we are to find any answers about God then we have to go from the atheistic realm into the theistic realm. In the theistic realm we have the Bible as the source of information on God. Does that make sense? If we are to ask questions about God why look to science when we have the Bible? We are no longer thinking atheistically and therefor can use the Bible as evidence to God's existence.
In the Bible God says that He was, is and is to come. (Take Revelation 1:4 as one of the many places that states this.) Now if we consider that statement we will understand that it is applicable for all ages. 2000 years ago God says that He was, is and is to come. Meaning, no matter how far back you go God was before that time. The same principle can be used into the eternal future. Any point in time in the future this statement shows that He is to come. We can then deduce that He always was and always will be.
I would briefly like to touch on theistic evolutionists. (An oxymoronic* statement if there ever was one.) If you believe that God began life yet supervised it's evolving over millions of years than you are contradicting yourself in the most embarrassing way. We can yet again apply what was stated above; when we accept the existence of God we are in the theistic realm in which the Bible is our answer for all theistic questions.
Now theistic evolution has a major problem if the Biblical account is brought into view. The problem is how to explain death before sin. The Bible says that through one man (Adam) death entered into the world (Romans 5:14, 15). It also says the wages of sin is death. (Romans 6:23) So if, as a theistic evolutionist, you believe there was death before man had a chance to evolve then you are contradicting the scriptural account of sin and death. And as a result destroy the idea of salvation. No, it is not possible to believe in theistic evolution based on logical reasoning.
I conclude that the beginning of life on this planet, as accounted in scriptures and as is provable by science, was the result of God's creative power over 6 literal, 24-hour, continuous, contiguous days. The Biblical account is the only record that makes sense and is what I will base my beliefs on.
*yes a couple of words were made up but their meaning was clear.

Sounds like very good reasoning - thank you for making it more clear - Mom
